Eric Hibelot is a keen observer of trends. His favourite material, his register of forms, his chromatic range, are efficient, simple and recurrent.

He works on white porcelain, sometimes even in two dimensions, like postcards or paintings. He prefers round shapes which fill up the hand, building up pieces from individual plaques, sometimes extremely small. He attempts instability and off-balance through round bases in the manner of Culbuto toys.

He is fond of bands of primary colours, notably blue, the constrasting effects of matt and shiny surfaces, and stripes inspired by the world of textiles. His work references mass distribution containers – by rendering them unique, the artist repairs the flaws of consumer society.
