I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ATTRACTED BY CLAY. AS A YOUNG GIRL, I LOVED MAKING POTTERY AND WAS FASCINATED BY THE POTS THAT WERE DISPLAYED IN MY GRANDMOTHER’S KITCHEN. LATER, I DISCOVERED THE TRADITIONAL CERAMICS OF THE CITY OF SEJNANE IN TUNISIA, AND WAS AMAZED BY THE HUGE VARIETY OF THIS ART EXHIBITED IN MUSEUMS. THE PURITY OF JAPANESE CERAMICS, THE SHAPES OF OBJECTS FROM ANCIENT GREECE, THE METALLIC REFLECTIONS AND THE TURQUOISE BLUE OF PERSIAN PATTERNS, THE COLORS OF PRE-COLOMBIAN CERAMIC ART FILL ME WITH WONDER AND GUIDE MY WORK. MY IMAGINATION IS ALSO FED BY WORKS OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS SUCH AS SERGE POLIAKOFF, EDUARDO CHILLIDA, JOAN MIRÓ, ANTONI TAPIÈS, LUCIE RIE, JACQUELINE LERAT AND MANY OTHERS…
